Reflection on the phrase “No Doubt in It” in the Holy Qur’an

The phrase “No doubt in it” means something that is absolutely certain and does not accept even the smallest doubt. Therefore, it must be believed in with full and complete faith, without any hesitation or questioning.

In the Holy Qur’an, the description “No doubt in it” is used for several important matters:

1. The Holy Qur’an

This description is used for the Qur’an as a whole, for its detailed explanation, and for its revelation from Allah.

“This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guidance for the righteous.”
(Al-Baqarah 2)

“This Qur’an could not have been invented apart from Allah, but it confirms what came before it and explains the Book in detail—there is no doubt in it—from the Lord of the worlds.”
(Yunus 37)

“The revelation of the Book—there is no doubt in it—is from the Lord of the worlds.”
(As-Sajdah 2)

This confirms that the Qur’an, in its entirety and detail, is truly from Allah without any doubt.

2. The Hour (The Last Hour)

The Qur’an clearly states that the Hour will come, and there is no doubt about it.

“The Hour—there is no doubt about it.”
(Al-Jathiyah 32, Ghafir 59, Al-Hajj 7, Al-Kahf 21)

Allah’s promise is true, and the coming of the Hour is certain and unavoidable.

3. The Day of Resurrection / The Day of Gathering

The Day of Resurrection is described as a day with no doubt.

“Our Lord, You will surely gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt.”
(Aal-E-Imran 9)

“Allah will surely gather you on the Day of Resurrection—there is no doubt about it.”
(An-Nisa’ 87)

The Day of Resurrection is also called the Day of Gathering, because Allah will gather all people on that day. This gathering is certain and will definitely happen.

4. The Appointed Term (Al-Ajal)

Allah has set a fixed time for every soul, every nation, and even for the universe itself.

“He has appointed for them a term—there is no doubt about it.”
(Al-Isra’ 99)

This appointed time does not change, cannot be delayed or brought forward.

The term “Ajal” can mean:

A fixed deadline (such as debts)

The waiting period for widows or divorced women

The end of a person’s life

The end of all creation at the coming of the Hour

“When their time comes, they cannot delay it nor advance it by even an hour.”
(Al-A’raf 34, Yunus 49)

Death is certain, life spans are fixed, and every appointed time will surely come.

Conclusion

The Qur’an describes “No doubt in it” for four main matters:

The Book (The Qur’an) – in summary, detail, and revelation

The Hour (The Last Hour)

The Day of Resurrection / The Day of Gathering

The Appointed Times (Ajal)

All of these are absolute truths that must be believed in without any doubt.
