1. Practice beautiful patience and seek Allah’s help through frequent remembrance and supplication.
2. Give daily charity.
3. Offer a sacrifice and distribute it, according to the level of the trial.
4. Increase praising Allah during hardship; this is a trait of those close to Him—thank Him that the trial is in your worldly life and not in your faith, that it came in a measured way, and that Allah has stored great reward and love for those who show beautiful patience.
5. Frequently glorify Allah using His Beautiful Names, especially As-Sabūr (The Most Patient).
6. Increase reading, listening to, and reflecting upon the Holy Qur’an.
7. Patience during trials benefits the soul—be kind to others, relieve their pain, and bring them happiness so you are distracted from your own hardship.
8. Strive to understand the wisdom behind the trial and the message Allah is sending you, and respond to it.
9. Do not focus on when the hardship will end. Instead, make use of these days when you are close to Allah, so you may attain His love—like His love for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ—even before the trial ends. What a great achievement and gift!
10. Increase remembrance before sunrise and before sunset, send prayers and peace upon the Prophet ﷺ—especially on Fridays—and repeat the following supplications:
“My Lord, You have granted me blessings beyond count… O Originator of the heavens and the earth, You are my Protector in this world and the Hereafter.”
“Cause me to die as a Muslim, a believer, pious, righteous, pure, and happy, and join me with the righteous.”
